Cascade Gran Fondo

Post Fondo Celebrating
After almost a week off the bike due to work obligations in Salt Lake City, I came home to beautiful Bend, Oregon and rode my bike.  On Saturday, Foxy and I got out on the trails and tackled the Double Helix Plus. This is a ride that includes some of my very favorite trails in Bend, passes by seven waterfalls and has a couple of ripping descents. It was my kind of welcome home party!

On Sunday, I flew the All Access flag in a foreign land; in a road race. Each August, Chris and Megan Horner organize the Cascade Gran Fondo; a 75 mile loop around Mt. Bachelor with a great party at the finish.  This event isn't your typical race, as the men and women race/ride together.  This format makes it much more interesting and super fun.  I crossed the line 7th overall and 1st women. I guess these legs can road race after all.

Huge thanks to Brenna, Kerry, Rob, Ryan, Matt, and Andy for making me work for it, to Megan for all your work to put on the event, and kudos to all the finishers.
Smiling, because we have finished
